Home -> RV-10 topic: Lots of glass in four seater

Here is an interesting approach to having doors... but still plenty of
glass (which I consider extremely important for safety).
I guess I too would prefer a canopy arrangement of some sort... with
roll-bar. But, if doors, then lots of glass.

Yes I agree... plenty of Glass.

Check this 4 place out from American Ghiles .. I don't see how they can do
it with only 110 HP

I understand how you can go 155 kts when your gross is the same as a
C-152...

But how do you build a 4-seater that weighs 683 lbs empty???

Note that the max G load is only +3.8.

Bob,
I 'm a french guy, waiting as you for the RV 10. I can ensure you that the
aircraft from American Ghiles is 110 hp with 4 people. It's a french kit
from Dynaero (American Ghiles is the representative) called the MCR 4 S
powered with a Rotax 912 S. It works because it's a high speed prop. That
kit has been developped by Michel Colomban, I'm sure you know the "Cricri",
the mini aircaft developped by that person.

Regards Pascal (waiting as well for a real aluminium 4 seats kit aircraft).

Yeah and the published rate of climb is 680 fpm. They list the wing
loading at 15.8 lb/ft^2, but at the published gross weight it would
appear to be actually 18.8 lb/ft^2. So it's both underpowered and
has too little wing area.
