Home -> RV-10 topic: Received our empennage kit today!

Author: "Lori Millsap" <lmillsap@...> Time: Tue Nov 4, 2003 6:57 pm PST Link

We've opened our crates and inventoried, and gotten our first glance at
these plans. WOW. Everything is SO SO SO very very VERY much better than our
RV-6A quickbuild! Dennis keeps saying, "Wow. EVERYTHING is predrilled.
Everything. It's awesome." The plans look great. For us, as experienced
builders, we are just blown away by all the prefabricated parts. We are so
used to having to do so much the hard way...this kit does look like it could
fall out of the box and assemble itself! GRIN!

(He just said, "Wow" again, in that awe-filled voice.)

I think that means we have to order the wings tomorrow.

Have fun on the new project. I am finishing deburing the tailcone and from the start this has been a ton of fun. Let me know if I can be of any help to you 2nd timers. Randy 40006.

I can't believe we don't have to build any jigs other than the holder for the horizontal stabilizer. This is really amazing.

Have any of you built the rudder yet? If so, was it easy to keep the trailing edge straight?
That looks like it will be a little challenging.
