I was looking ahead in the manual and saw that either a special
bucking bar or pop rivets are needed for the elevator trailing edge
(page 9-12). What are those who have already completed this step
doing? If using the bucking bar, what material did you use to make
it (and how)?

You can also use a thin-nose no-hole yoke for most of those pesky trailing
edge end rib rivets. Avery sells it, among many other vendors I'm sure.
http://images.rvproject.com/images/tools/special_yokes.jpg
The top of it takes no die...it's just thin and flat. Small enough to get
back into most trailing edges.
Snag one of those puppies and also a longeron yoke (can't live without that
either), and any other yokes your budget affords...assuming you're a
squeeze-head like me. 8^)

I used some 3/4" material that was 11/4" wide. I ground the shape with a bench grinder used for steel. It took about 1 hour to make it and it worked great. I drew a felt pin line down the middle so when it was where it needed to be I could be see the line through the hole. Randy 40006. Finished tail cone today and mouted the HS to the tail cone. VS going on tomorrow.

I have 50 of them coming in next week. They are milled from cold rolled
to the plan specs., deburred, and polished on important edges. I will
have to wait until the final costs come in but I think they will be $21
each. Anyway that is how I am doing it.

Thanks Mike! Now what we need is for you to be a few weeks ahead of
all of us first wave builders. That will make sure that we have a
source for whatever other specialty odds and ends that we might need
in stock!
