Pete any other info on this saw? I did not have much luck finding it on
there web site. Thanks Mark #167

I want to add an item or two to the list of those that have already
been mentioned in other posts.

1. Buy a couple of chain saw sharpening files...they are round and
very small in diameter. They will get into small spaces where
nothing else will and cost about $5 for a set.

2. CREDIT to Bob Condrey .... Harbor Frieght has a 6" electric
cutoff saw....that happens to be on sale this week for $25.

I didn't think I would use it...but then I got into the tailcone.
The longerons need to be cut to length, and then trimmed to a 45
degree angle. The cutoff saw has a built in clamp and it adjusts to
45 degrees....it was VERY slick to cut the longerons.....it's
something you can't do on the bandsaw very easily..and would probably
end up doing by hand. (Thanks Bob!)

Mark,

The saw is labeled Chicago Electric and Item #41453. I did a quick
search on the web site and didn't see it - I found mine at the local
storefront. I think that their current sale flyer also lists a 14#
cutoff saw for ~$59.

Pete - I'd like to take credit for the discovery but I saw it on Dan
Checkoway's web site and believe that he also sent me an email
recommending it. BTW, I finished my H Stab tonight.

You won't find it on the web site (at least I didn't after much searching).

Mine is a 6" pull-down chop saw, item #41453. I thought they discontinued
'em about a year or so ago, then I saw them in the store again.

You might have to go into a Harbor Freight store to buy it...or maybe phone
in the order?

Best of luck...that saw comes in *really* handy for chopping longerons and
angles and all sorts of stuff you can't or don't want to do with a band saw
or hack saw.

For those that are interested,

I just stopped by the local Harbor Freight store today and the 6" saw
was in the sale flyer that they had on the counter for $24.97 through
1/19. They had 5 of them in boxes in the showroom. BTW, the flyer
at the store was different than the one that I received in the mail a
few days ago.
