just a quick question. has anyone looked into or actually bought a
tool kit from

http://planetools.com/RVKit.htm

http://www.wicksaircraft.com/gotopage.php?page=40

http://www.aircraft-tool.com/shop/detail.asp?Product_ID=RVK-3X

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/topages/aircrafttoolkit.php

i only ask because they are all cheaper than some of the more
popular ones.

out of these 4, planetools.com is the most expensive at $1375, then
aircraft-tool.com at $1275, then aircraftspruce.com at $736 and
finally wicksaircraft.com at $725.

i did a search and nobody has ever mentioned these suppliers. is
there a reason i am missing? is buying from one of these suppliers
like buying craftsman as compared to snap-on? i know everyone
preaches pneumatic squeezer, but as for the rest of the tools, is
avery or cleveland really that much better? any info would be
appreciated. thanks in advance, elk

I bought tools from many different places, I had good luck from Avery, Cleveland, ATS, Brown and airrivet tools.

I can say that Avery and Cleveland had some slightly higher prices but I can also tell you you get what you pay for in regards to quality of the tool. I had good luck with all of the above. ATS has some hand tools like a deburrer that works just fine but lacks the bearings that the one from Avery has.....like I said works fine but not apples to apples. I recommend any of the above and others too.....shop wise, consider multiple shipping costs add up (I paid more in shipping costs than I saved by shopping around) One last thing..Avery and Cleveland are owned and operated (I think) by RV'ers...They are always friendly and answer questions without making you feel like you intruded....that's worth something too.

As we say..."Your mileage may vary and it's just my 2 cents worth"

PS...figure Out what you think you will spend then add at least 15 percent for contingencies. Don't forget the pop rivet dimplers either.
