Hi,
here is a 3D picture of my future FourWinds 210 FWF package from
Crossflow. These guys know how to engineer a fwf package and this
picture is a testament of their engineering capabilities.
This is by far the best turn key package in the alternative world I
have ever come across.
Have a look.
Cheers,
Placido

Nice picture, but isn't this still in the "vapor-ware" category with
lots of other promising siblings?

Why vapor-ware? They have been around converting autoengines for many
years now, starting as a father and son shop about 10 years ago and
having evolved into a real production facility now. I think you
should take your time and compare their shop with the other promising
siblings in the market and you will be "shocked" (positively, well
depending from which angle you look at)about the difference in
tooling, machining, testing etc. capabilities this company has
compared to others. They have happy flying customers one of which has
in excess of a 1000 hrs with no problems at all.
I think Subaru engines are widely accepted in the aviation community
and are considered to be very reliable. I would shy away from trying
to convert a junkyard engine into an aviation application in my
backyard but I would have no hesitancy in going with a well developed
and engineered fwf package.

I'm biased having an association with Crossflow Aero Corporation but the
engine exists and is in service now, and we have obligations to deliver a
number of engine installations utilising this general configuration of
engine installation. If convenient, you are invited to visit the Crossflow
facility, located in Shelburne, Ontario, Canada and observe engines being
assembled and tested, mount frames, exhaust systems, inlet systems and
electrical harness being fabricated. You can speak with our technical staff
relative to your particular needs and requirements and we can create a
package with the features you would like. Further it can be created as a 3D
model in order to demonstrate to you what, indeed, will be delivered. If you
came to-day you would see at least a couple of 350 hp units in assembly.
