Tip tanks developed by Jon Johanson for his RV, capacity 8.5 gal each are
listed in the clearance section of the Vans website for only $ 2,275.00. My
wing kit was delivered Wed., the 10 tips have
a molded in recess for lights, lens included (thanks Van's!).

In a recent RVator, I saw a writeup of some very clever auxilliary
fuel tanks made for (if I remember right) an RV-8. They consisted of
large-diameter aluminum tubing, just small enough to be slipped in to
the lightening holes in the wing ribs, capped on both ends.
How about wingtip tanks a-la Cessna 310/340 (with
the possibility of removing them for ordinary flight duties)?
