Help! I'm at page 9-12 in the elevator section. A diagram is shown
whenin the builder is (casually) assumed to create a custom a
bucking bar. What have others done to make this thingy? Trip to a
scrap-yard? Friends at Cleaveland?
It looks like all elevator work is at a stand still until this one
gets figured out. Maybe a good time to start prepping tailcone
parts...

I ordered the custom bucking bar but before it showed up I ended up
getting a 6" head for the Tatco squeezer and used that. I'm not real
comfortable with bucking in odd places, especially those that I can't
see, so I went with the squeezer. If you need a bar, let me know
(email: Nick@n...).

No big deal, i fonud a piece of mild steel 1"x1"x14" and took it to the gringer to shape the end as vans calls out, check fit the bar and you may want to adjust the shape.
I found the bar to be quite uesfull for other areas of the build too.

I read ahead and ordered mine from Cleaveland when Mike got the first
batch in. I was a bit nervous about that series of rivets but it
went quick and easy.

I built the bucking bar from a piece of scrap steel I bought for 5 bucks.
It took an hour to make it.
It worked great. Randy 40006.
