Hello,

I am building an RV10 (kit # 150). I have found that everyone refers
to this issue as being hashed out and just look in the archives....
However, I have never found a clear answer or explanation.

After considering multiple options I went with Sherwin Williams Vinyl
wash primer as it was locally available.

It is easy to mix and sprays ok. I have a small primer sprayer but I
am getting a better one. Gives a nice goldish tone to the parts. I am
spraying all of the interior.

Do you have a place to spray the primer?

Where are you in the kit?

I have been traveling alot for work but have finally started
riveting.... Alot of the guys on this board will finish years ahead
of me.

By the way, also considered epoxy primer. More prep work and it is
heavier so I bought some for the visible interior (for later in the
kit). SW wash prime is translucent and will show buffed out areas,
etc.

Hope that helps,

Hi Eric

I do have space to use as a painting booth. I have "aludined" all parts on
the vertical stabiliser and rudder, and would like to start assembly. I
wanted to adopt an anti corrosion policy first so that I could be constant
with it, through out the kit. I live in South Africa and the local Henkel
distributor tells me that the "aludine" (Bonderite) has been tested to 1500
hours in a salt spray enviroment. I am considering using a strontium
chromate primer, only externally, so that my final coat of paint has a
medium to bond to.

Regards

Dave
