A question about using proseal on the trailing edges...

If this stuff isn't really for sealing, but more for stiffening,
isn't there some other locally available, longer shelf life
chemical that we could use on the trailing edges instead?
It says you can use RTV on the control surface stiffners where
they come close together. What about using it on the trailing
edge?

Tim

PS: I see you can now put a deposit down on quickbuild wings. Too
bad they can't tell me what they expect the overall cost of quickbuild
wings to be.

It's primary purpose is sealing fuel cells. As a by product, it makes a
quite useful adhesive for other applications. RTV isn't as good for the
trailing edge because paint won't stick to it. Paint does stick to proseal,
although there should be very little, if any, at the trailing edge.

I'm also mighty curious about the QB wings! I started an email to Van's
today to inquire about the total cost then got called away. I can handle the
$3k, but if it's a deposit on some reeally huge total cost, then maybe not!
My best WAG at it would be around $9K. Shipping could be a bummer....those
are big wings.
