Some build statistics for those that are interested. I recently
completed the trim tabs and my tail feathers are now done. Started
the tailcone yesterday.
Received RV-10 kit #40237 on May 21, 2004
Vertical Stabilizer 28 hours
Rudder 27 hours
Horizontal Stabilizer 68 hours
Elevator & Trim Tabs 77 hours (will probably redo 1 trim tap)
These hours include VS, Rudder, and Elevator fiberglass fairing,
still need to fiberglass HS fairing. Will see how the progress goes
on the tailcone before I order the wing kit. I have limited
storage/build space.

You may not be aware that the "Database" tab on the left of our site
here is perfect to enter building statistics. I'm the only one that
has entries in the database so far.

Ok, I am updated on the database including the time to paint my puppy hair
shag primer interior : ) William is about 200 hours off and sounds right
for the tail cone assembly. Took me about that long to finish the cone and
complete total assembly of tail feathers. I have final painted the interior
of the cone as well. Ready for a HARD, AWKWARD, HEAVY assembly to the main
fuse since all the parts are final assembled with the bolts torqued to
range.
Wow, now that I think of it that is going to be a tough tie together with
the feathers on there. I will figure something out or take it apart."It's
All good today!" I just love seeing it all together staring at me while I
work on the wing. I am now setting the rear spar and preparing the skins.
Time to order the fuse and get in the queue of 10-12 weeks. Should still be
working on the wings but ready shortly thereafter for the fuse. Randy's fuse
picture looks fantastic in the photo section of the forum. Looking forward
to it myself.
