Home -> RV-10 topic: Fuselage Delivery - A Horror Sight - Update

Author: "dejavuan2" <wvu@...> Time: Wed Aug 25, 2004 3:30 am PDT Link

Spent 3 hrs tonight doing inventory and inspecting suspected items.
Amazingly the cabin top was ok. All subkits and loose items are
accounted for. All AL skins are fine. So far I only noted damage
to two items.
Both rudder pedals were slightly bowed in the middle. Holding a
straight edge to them showed a 0.5in difference between the two
ends. Also, the empenage fairing had a 4in crack.

All in all not as bad as the crate looked. Thank goodness to the
good packaging job Van's did. I'm sure the mountains of paper
helped.

I'm glad to hear that the damage is minor. I can't even imagine what
would have been going through my mind if that had happened. So far
I've been lucky...

If anyone is interested, I've uploaded a few pictures in
the "Photos" section under "Anh's RV-10" of the damage to the
fuselage crate and parts. And also a few of my completed empenage
and wings.
Regards,
Anh
