Could someone please give me the dimensions of the leading edges and
fuel tanks? Span, chord and thickness would be appreciated. The HS
went out through the basement window with room to spare and wondered
if I could build the leading edges and tanks down there too and take
them out that same window. Tailcone is in the garage being riveted
but its cold out there. If I thought I could work on the wings
partially in the basement I'd place an order sooner rather than
later........john

Having just got done with the leading edges and fuel tanks not
too long ago, I don't think you'll have any problem getting your
leading edges or tanks out...not even using the window. The total
thickness of the wings really isn't more than 12" wide, and the
chord is probably less than 20". The span for the tanks
is probably close to 5.5 or 6', and the span for the leading edges
may be a little longer, but surely not much more than 7' or 8'.
The overall wing is only about 12.5'
You should be able to take the leading edges and fuel tanks
out through the doors with no problem. THe HS is HUGE in
comparison to these parts.
The tailcone, as you found, is probably too big for any standard
single door and even many windows to exit. Flaps and ailerons
should be easy to do inside too, and would easily fit out the
door with you.

In addition to the tanks and leading edges, there's also the flaps
and ailerons that could be done inside!

John,
Just in case you need concise info for the fuel tanks:
Fuel tanks:
Chord: ~18 3/4"
Span: 67"
Thickness: 9"
Leading edge span is ~77 1/4", other measurements should be the same
as the tanks.
