I've got a small 'bottle' of boelube with my tools, but have not yet
really understood how and where to use it. (Maybe it is not really
useful on the VS ;-)

countersink workout.

I think the Avery tool catalog has a little write up on
uses/processes. Boelube is a dry lube with a waxy type base.
It is a great lube for drill operations where a lube is
helpful/required. Such as when a drill bit gets hot from the
drilling operation. To use... drill for a moment, stop and touch the
hot bit to the top of the lube surface, it will melt slightly onto
the bit, begin drilling (much easier!) again.
It is great for drill bits used in firewall stainless steel,
particularly Unibit step drills. Also use it on any drilling of 4130
steel brackets, landing gear mounts/legs, etc....
It is also good for lubing cowl attach hinge pins, just rub it on the
pin.
I lightly rub it on the surfaces of the wing spar stubs before
inserting them into the fuselage.
I could go on and on... use your imagination.
Just use caution applying it anywhere you hope to prim or paint
later. It is difficult to remove all of the residue left behind. It
will not be any harm to any bare stainless steel or aluminum surfaces
if you choose to do nothing but wipe away any visable amount.

The Boelube tube I have is in solid stick form. I rub a little on the spar hole where I am countersinking, like a stick of deodorant. The scratches are reduced by half or maybe a little more wherever I have used it.
