I need to buy a 3 inch transponder. The plane I found to buy does not
have a transponder. Panel space is very small. What companies sell good
transponders of this type and how much should they cost?

Dude, The first one I would look at is the Microair 2 1/4" T2000
transponder (1-800-235-3300)www.microair.com. Becker avionics also
has a 2 1/4" model. Good Luck.

I second the MicroAir. I installed one myself. They are priced FAR
below the Becker model. Should cost about the same or less than a
full-sized transponder. I bought mine for $850 a year ago when you
could still buy direct from Michael Coates in Oz.
