most common for an RV4?

I got coverage through the Forest Agency:

http://www.forestagency.com/

They have been great and there premium went down $200
this year. I can't remember the exact differences in
price but they came in WAY under Avemco.

A friend insured his RV-8 (low time tailwheel pilot) through JT
Helms. He got liability and ground (not in motion) for about $900 /
year. I'm going to be calling JT for insurance too. For liability
only (no hull) coverage in my RV-4 two months ago I was quoted $350 /
year.

Hope that helps some.

I'm flying with Avemco, hull ($50K) and liability for $2300/yr. in motion and not. I have extensive tailwheel experience and a commercial ticket and I fly as often as the weather permits.
I am going to watch this question as it unfolds.... interesting.

Deane, I wouldn't let Avemco insure my lawnmower. They are the most
non-experimental friendly agency I tried. I use AUA who gives
discounts for EAA members. I have my -4 insured for 50K hull
operating off a grass strip for $1004 a year.

I have insurance through NationAir. They were referred from Van's
website. I've been flying since February and I had no tailwheel
experience and they insured me with the condition that I would get a
tailwheel endorsement and RV transition training. I knocked both out
by using Alex in Arlington, TX. I don't know what my coverage is but
it's enough to satisfy the bank, who actually owns the plane. My
premiums for complete coverage is $1368.00 per year.
