Having trouble with leaky plastic low pressure lines. On going
problem in the RV world. RV8 builder recommendation is to install
two reservoirs--one at each master cylinder. RV8s have more room.
Has anyone out there in the RV4 ever installed the reservoir (the one
from Spruce that threads directly into the master cylind) at the
master cylinder? And if so, any problems with the operation, leaks,
or is there room enough to do so?
Thanks,
Ned

HI
I have installed a couple of these and have repaired some too, the biggest problem is with the installation of the line it's self. Two things, first make sure that their is the small brass tube in the inside end of the tube and be sure that the tube bottoms into the fitting when you tighten the nut. I have used the brass feral that you can get at any hardware store for the out side of the tube. After you install the tube in the fitting you should be able to pull on in fairly firmly. It doesn't take luck just a little patience.

.....throw the plastic lines away (I can't believe Van's would use this stuff) and plumb in 1/4 aluminum on the high pressure. On the low pressure side use steel braided flex line such as aeroquip.
