Just saw JJ on Jay Leno's Tonight Show> 3 jpegs below.....
Yes Jesse James of Discovery's Monster Garage & his build team put
together a flying Car.......For the 2 hour season finale the Garage went
for the big one and built a flying car. Jesse and his 9 man team
converted a $100,000 Panoz Esperante sports car into a
flying-mobile....Jesse got the idea from PM Magazine, who will release
the Popular Mechanics Magazine Story same time as Discovery Show
The goal is to match the distance of the Wright Brother's first flight.
The elite car's interior includes a used propeller engine mounted in
the trunk, a 15 foot fuselage secured rear tail, and 36 foot hand made
wings mounted in the center of the car.
They went to Kitty Hawk to Fly it......Totally separate controls for A/C
& Car so Jesse the Pilot (only 1 real lesson under his belt) has to go
from car control to A/C control for T.O. then back upon touch down.
It will debut on Discovery Channel> Part I....Jun 6th and Part
II.....Jun 7th.
Watch for a Tonight Show repeat this weekend......
