I came across a guy in a strange looking airplane a while back. it
looked like a motor glider, was foreign made I believe and had a MT
propeller. I asked the owner about the prop. He told me that he had
some leakage problems with it and that it was difficult to find a
place to service it. I guess there aren't very many facilities that
are qualified to work on those propellers in this country. This seems
to be a negative for MT propellers. Does anybody else have any
experience with these propellers?

It was probably a Grob motorglider. Tell your friend MT has a large
service center in Deland, FL which services all their US props. At OSH
I saw at least 10 RV's with MT props and almost all of them in Europe
have one. The CEO of Lycoming has an RV8A with an MT on it. My
experience is flying my neighbors RV8 many hours with a 3 blade MT.
Light, strong and absolutely smooth as glass and great climb/acro.
Downside: Cost. Check out the new RV's section of this qtrs Van's RV8R
newsletter. There is a pic of a new RV4 in England with a 3 blade MT on
it...

PS: I fly a Fixed Pitch prop on my RV4...for now....
