After having flown PIC several thousand miles cross-country in
Cessnas and Pipers and right seat in RV's, I am a bit amused at the
discussion of the Subaru engine. Maybe it will be a good choice,
maybe it won't. Give it a chance.
Personally my choice right now if I were building would be a
Lycoming, but I might be tempted in a few years to go the Diesel
route. Jet-A appears to be a lot better alternative in the coming
years than hiking down the road at some distant airport to buy mogas
(assuming 100LL isn't available by then).
Now before all you guys start jumping down my throat, just take this
as food for thought and not a slam at anybody, OK? The Subaru
package offered by Mr. E is an attractive alternative.
