I am thinking about building an RV-7a and have some
concerns about the leg room. I sat in the prototype at
Sun n Fun and found that my knees were tight up to the
panel. I would appreciate any comments from tall
pilots who have built and flown RV 6s in the past. I
am 6'4.

Henry,
I am building the RV-7A (sat in it at Oshkosh - and tht RV-9A) and flew
in the RV-6A. Both the RV-7 and RV-9A had plenty of legroom for me (I'm
6'3"). I would think it would be fine unless most of your height is in your
legs...
Take Care,
Max

Henry, did you ask anyone there at the booth about it?
Tom Green, Van's Gen. manager is very near your hight, predominantly
in the legs, and he fits comfortably in the RV-7 the way it is
configured right now.
Also the RV-7 prototype has the rudder peddles bolted into an
intermediate position. They can be positioned about 2" further fwd
which would have a huge effect on your knee position.
I am confident that between the adjustment of the seat and the peddle
positions that you could fit comfortably.

How hard is it to reposition the rudder pedals? Is this something
that is done only once in the building process, or can they be moved
(reasonably) after construction is completed?
