Here's another question (maybe we should have a Poll?) for all of you.
What kind of rivet gun did you (or do you plan to) buy? Brown has
Taylor models for $149, Sioux for $239, both good prices from what
i've seen. Other models i've seen around range from $79 to $539. Any
recommendations for or against any models?

I am interested in this as well. I'd also like to know what most people use: 2x or 3x rivet guns. I have my tail kit, but have not yet completed my tool purchases. Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I bought the 2X gun before I knew that "most builders use a 3X gun" (Van's words in the instructions). I used a 3X gun at the SportAir RV workshop. At this point, I am happy to have gotten then 2X since it is lighter and my wife is driving all of the flush rivets on the skins while I buck, and she finds the 2X comfortable and the 3X a bit unwieldy. If you run the 2X at about 85-90 psi it whacks in the 1/8" rivets just fine, though I would recommend getting an inline dial meter regulator (about $11 from Home Depot) and attaching it at the base of the gun, since the 2X seems to be more sensitive to pressure changes than the 3X (meaning you can really feel the difference when you dial the pressure down 5 psi on the 2X, where the 3X it didn't seem to matter much). The brass regulator that came from Avery as part of the RV tool kit is either not very good or I couldn't figure out how to make it work correctly.
VS finished last night - total of 8 hours on it! I think I saved a lot of time by just building on the bench using the "skins rule" rule for lining things up, rather than mounting it on the H frame.
Now on to the rudder...
