Dwight,
One Elevator to go and I'm done my RV7A Emp. I bought the Avery tool kit
plus a pnuematic squeezer. You will use every tool in the kit and want more
on the Emp. My only experience has been with the Avery Tools, but I am
totally satisfied with their tools and their customer service.

John,
Thanks ... that had been my guess, but I just wanted to
hear someone say it. :) Now I just have to see if I really
have the dollars laying around to order it all this week!

I purchased many of the tools separately. I made a spreadsheet that had
Avery, Aircraft Spruce and Specialty and ATS that showed the different
prices so I could save a little. I later bought clecos from Brown tools so
I put them in that column. It saved me about $300 and I didn't know about
Cleveland Tools and some of the others. I found that all companies have
good prices on some things, but are higher on others. I highly recommend
Avery's special on the pneumatic squeezer as I paid almost $500 for mine and
it has been a lifesaver. Although I haven't updated it, if anyone would
like the spreadsheet, contact me offline and I will be happy to e-mail it to
you. Finished empennage, working on wings, fuselage kit due 17 Sep...
Take Care,
Max

David,
Glad to help. I haven't been able to add much building expertise since I am new to metal construction, but the RV-7 sure makes things relatively easy. You might want to add columns for Brown Tools (I did show clecos so the column is there but not complete) and Cleaveland Tools or any other you may know of. Hope the spreadsheet helps your finance manager stay supportive...
Take Care,
Max

Max,
I'm glad I subscribed to this website discussion group...really a spirited group! I have been researching the homebuilt market for almost 2 years, and keep coming back to the RV. I am impressed with the 7A, and with everyone "learning" together on this relative new model, I don't feel so alone!.
I have been checking the web for tool prices, and will accept your offer for the email spread sheet you developed. My finance committee(understanding wife) is all for saving money.
Thanks for your concern and contribution,
David Hennon
