Paul,
History has shown that the normal price increase, across the board for all kits, is generally about 3%. We won't really know until it is posted within the first few days of January. And yes, pay in full for a kit now and your price is locked at the 2001 level.

I called and asked Van's how much they will increase the price and
they said, "We usually try to keep it at or below 3%". I would use
3% for your estimate. Hmm, let's see... 3% savings translates to:
-7 wing kit - $155
-7 fuse kit - $135
-7 finish kit - $141
total - around $431
For me personally, I might order the wing kit, but shelling out
almost another $10,000 now for the fuse and finish kit, just to save
around $280 is NOT worth it. The only reason I would buy the wings
now is because I'll be ready to start working on them in late Jan.,
early Feb.
Over course you call always tell the wife you had to order it now
because they were going to raise the price. Just don't tell her you
spent $15,000 to save 3%... :)
