Has anyone cut the holes in the fuse for the flap pushrod egress?
I'm curious what was necessary with hole size?
If the lower rod end partially fits into the hole with the flaps
retracted?
And what if any spacing was used on the threads going into the flap?

This is a (not so) fun item if it is the same as for
the 6A.
Have you already got the wings final attached?
The most binding is when the flap is all the way up
and the push rod may scrape on the top inside of the
hole. Some cutting and grinding may be required to
prevent this.
There was an article about push rod failures a while
back and the side stress from hitting the fuse seemed
to be the cause. (on my friend's there was still some
UNNOTICED binding even at the FAA inspection!)
The scraping may not be obvious till the flap is
cycled a bunch of times.
On my friends 6A, we wrapped masking tape round the
push rod at the bottom to check and kept
cutting/sanding to verify that the rod did not scrape
any more. This was after all acceptable adjustment of
the pushrod itself of course.
Its a pretty critical element as the pushrod can take
an amazing comprssion load but isn't meant to handle
side loads.
Hole shape ended up a nice teardrop shape.

Yes my wings are fully mounted. I'm guessing that I need to space the
lower rod end inboard a little so that the required hole will be
fully within the bottom fuse skin. Right now (with no spacer) the
lower rod end would need some clearancing on the side skin as well.
In your experience, is the hole totally within the bottom fuse skin
only?

Actually, his was mostly in the side skin.
I may have a photo at home and will post it if there
is a clear shot at it.
As far as spacers, not sure of the structural issues,
if any. My friend is a mechanical engineer and could
prob answer this better (he may have some "which I had
done it this way advice).
I will ask and post more if he can't himself.

Most I have seen, including mine, go up the side skin. I say leave the spacers out and cut where you need to. Mine probably goes up an inch or so up the side skin in a really odd shape, to allow clearance at all positions.

That sounds reasonable to me. Any spacers would only weaken the
pushrod's leverage on the flap. I think I'll just cut whatever hole
is necesssary for the rod to work without any spacers.
