Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: Wing skin edge curl

I'm in the process of mounting the flaps on the wings (slow build type), and
there is a noticeable curl in the trailing edge of the upper inboard wing
skin. It appears to be caused by the wing walk doubler. Anybody else notice
this? I'm afraid I'll kink the skin if I try to bend it down to meet the
flap.

Hi Mike

Both my wings have about 1/8 inch upward deflection along the trailing edge of the upper skins. More so on the inboard than the outboard. Think the cause was the original break angle of the spar flange. I'm hoping to roll mine down slightly by putting a slotted piece of dowel along the trailing edge and giving it a hefty twist. Unless of course there are some better ideas out there.
