Interested in Putting your RV-7 on Floats? Just got
the below message from the guy you want to see.
Hi Cliff:
The 7 could definitely be put on floats however it
would be a prototype installation meaning that there
might be some minor changes in the installation
compared to the RV6. There are no changes required to
the fuselage, the only change is in the engine mount.
When you order your finishing kit you would have to
tell Vans that you need the "F" engine mount to
accommodate the front float strut pick-ups. He makes
these mounts available but are a special order from
his mount supplier and I don't know how much lead time
they need. Will be in touch in a day or two and give
you my thoughts on it. Eustace Bowhay E:MAIL:

Interested in building your RV-7 so at some later date
you or someone else might be able to put it on floats?
The price difference is only $252. for the type F
float engine mount - Part #WD-639.
Mine is on order.
The best landing sites in northern Maine are lakes -
not grass fields with unknown stumps hidden around.
This mount will work with any of the 180 HP or 200 HP
IO-360 engines. HOWEVER, you need to watch out when
ordering the cowl - make sure you get the right one.
