Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: Leading edge mounting

I'm trying to rivet the leading edge to the main spar but I can't get a
flush fit between the rivet gun and the rivet. The main wing rib is too
close. I tried CherryMax rivets as well but no enough room for the pop
riveter either.

How did you guys rivet the leading edge to the wing?

Thankx
Steve

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE RIVETS THAT GO THROUGH THE RIB&SPAR&RIB
JOINT....YOU NEED AN OFFSET 470 RIVET SET. I HAVE ALSO FOUND OUT THAT THE AIR
PRESSURE NEEDS TO BE TURNED UP SOMEWHAT WHEN USING THE OFFSET RIVET SET.

I had to use the offset rivet set and I also found that grinding off some of the side of the set helped. Don't try to set these rivets by yourself either. They are a first degree pain in the empennage but you can get them, just be patient.
