G-Load and the Starter Solenoid:
Another Builder note from Andy Russell at
http://www.armaerospace.com/
Builders: Do not forget that the RV aircraft can pull some serious Gs.
Thus, the starter solenoid must be attached 90 degrees to the g-load. A
weak solenoid spring under g-load will allow the contactors to touch and the
starter will engage.
I think Tony Bingeles assresses in his book, Firewall Forward.
Take a look at the new website - the planes go up and down and there is a
different aircraft underneath each time. I will be at Oshkosh again this
year.
