You are going to need a tool to measure dimensions of various items throughout this project to within 0.001", or so.... Go to the tool vendors web sites and look through the varios suppliers, eg Northern Tool/ cleveland Tool/ Avery Tool/ etc. for a dial caliper... About $35 and worth every penny...

Check the back of the stock for the number .032

On at lease one piece of stock sent you will most likely find this mark (It is the thickness)

At that point use that one...Also I would suggest to invest in a inexpensive, but good, Caliper (dial preferred)

Here here, I agree. You will need something to measure skin thickness and bushing lengths etc. Especially as the project progresses. I have found that the further along in the kit I get the more I am measuring things with my calipers. The one that I bought from Avery is excellent.

Vince,

I bought a decent dial caliper device at Sears. Can't remember
what it cost but it wasn't much.

Use it all the time. Really got into the nitty gritty once trying to
id some .032 and measured it with the blue shrink wrap in place.
It's somewhat thicker with the blue wrap so don't get bam
buzzled into using .025 with shrink wrap when Van calls for .032.
