I have reserved a special N-Number online with the FAA registry. Does
anyone know approximately how long it will take before the FAA
notifies me? I'm really curious to find out if I got my first choice
as it has a great significance to me.

I kept checking back on the web site. After about a week my first choice
changed from available to reserved with my name on it. A few days later I
got a confirmation letter.

Dave, it took about one month to recieve the paper work from the FAA; just
remember you have to renew it in one year from the date the FAA posted it, if
you do not have the plane ready to fly and signed of from the FAA. the letter
tells you all this. good luck!!

They send a confirmation letter later and you can see that the number has
been reserved by checking online. It took a week or so for mine and others
have reported 3 weeks.
