There's something in the manual that doesn't make sense to me. In
the construction of the left elevator, it makes special mention of
the trim assembly reinforcement plate (E615, I think), which on my
project seems to fit perfectly. But make note that if the rivets on
the spar interfere with the 615, it's perfectly ok to trim the
flange away.
What rivets? The only rivets on the spar are skin to spar - as near
as I can tell - and they don't come anywhwere close to the flange.
And the flange isn't riveted to the (rear) spar anyway.
What am I missing here?

Bob,
The interference will be with the elevator horn (WD-605-1-L) rivets. I had
to order a new E615 (another story) and Vans has fixed this, the part now
has the 2 areas trimmed away. Cleco the lower skin to the spar with E615 in
place, without the upper skin clecoed you can see were the interference will
accure. A small amount of trimming is all you need to clear the rivets.
