How has everyone trimmed the lead weights? I'm at the stage of
trimming the weights during the elevator assembly and I'm fishing
for ideas... I've tried a hacksaw, which works, but is slow and
tedious. BTW, to countersink the weights I found it easy just to
trim away some lead with a utility knife, works great.

Use a 1/2" drill bit. Just be very careful. You should take into
account the plastic tips and finish paint.
