I installed the flap actuator arm this weekend and ran into what I think is an error in the plans. On the detail where it shows the dimensions of the center bushing, there is a notch of 1/16" where the bottom of the bushing needs to clear the aft seat skin. I guess my drawings are backwards. The little notch is on the long end of the bushing and that is not the forward end of the bushing. Maybe I have the whole thing in backwards but it all fits?! Regardless it is something to watch for when you get there.

On my RV7A I ran into this as well. It's comforting to know other people
have run into the same thing; I must have stared at the plans, mulled and
measured for more than an hour before I convinced myself the plans
were wrong. It's not possible to put it together the way the drawings
show...

Look at the plans again at note the overall dimensions of the block and you see that the block has to be cut down so that it will fit the way the plans show it. Also for anyone who is close to this point in the plans, my actuator arm was made with the powder coating masked off in the wrong location. It was on the right side instead of the left. I called Van's and they said several went out that way, to just install it the way the plans show and leave the powder coating on where it rides in the bearing block.

OOPs, I didn't even look at the plans. I just figured that it went on the side where the powder coat was missing. It is all installed (on the right side) and seems to work fine. Anybody know of a reason why I shouldn't just leave it?

I put mine on the right side because I also got a flap actuator arm that was
mis-masked. It works fine
on the right side. Van's tech support also said either side works fine.

It will work just fine on the right side. In fact, that's the input
Van's gave me when I called them.

<PRE>Mines on the right side also-didn't appear to make a difference after
starring at the prints for a long time.
