Okay I have all four kits unpacked and inventoried in the garage and in various stages of construction, and I can't remember seeing anything that resembles the static air system. Is this something that I need to order separate? Or am I just missing it. I would like to go ahead and get that installed so that I can rivet the top skins on. I haven't looked real hard yet but I thought that I'd ask anyway.

Hi Phil,
I received mine with a QB kit, but I had trouble finding it. I had
thought it was part of the brake kit. When I looked more closely,
there it was. However, I think I have made at least 25 calls to
Van's for missing parts or hardware.

Because the static system varies with the builder's intentions (some
install pitot tubes off production airplanes which include static
ports) Van's sells the static air kit as an option.
Make sure you really ordered it...if you didn't it won't be there.

Phil,
The static air system is a rivet that is drilled out in the side of the
fuse. (Can't remember if its an option or standard)
I went with Cleveland Tool's flush mount...a real nice looking static
port.

Phil - A lot like Christmas isn't it! I found my static air kit as part of my fuse kit in a clear plastic bag with one or two pages of instructionas and a print. Can you cooment on the workmanship, quality, and general impression of your QB? Where was it built? Germany? Philipines?

Phil,
In case this helps, my static system came in one of the fuselage sub-packs.
It has a coil of plastic static line, some fittings, and the rivets for the
ports.

Phil, according to the manual, they recomend you keep
the top skins off for as long as possible. There will
be times when you will need to reach back there. If
you are not finished with your bird I would store them
for now. It can be done at any time in the future.
Regards,
Roger.

Phil;
Go to the Aircraft Spruce catalog and look at their static port kit (p/n
P/N 15160). It's about the same price and much nicer.
