For those not going with electronic instruments, where are you
getting your gyros? From what I see in Trade-a-Plane, RC Allen from
Spruce seems to be about the cheapest, are they OK (RC Allen, that
is)?
Thanks!

Jim
I bought two from TheGyroHouse.com
Not sure I would do it again.
I had to pay extra for them to recalibrate it to the panel slant angle
Kelly Instruments rebuilt a dg from another plane. They seem to be
pretty good folks.
my 2 cents

Jim,
Just 2 cents worth (no more), I went around and around on the
issue of gyros and came to the conclusion the vacuum choice is
OK if one could accept all the old fashioned hardware and
disclamors by the manufacturers. Domestic electric gyros are
priced much too high for what you get. The foreign units are
cheaper and less reliable. There also is quite a wait for some
products.
Final choice, and it too is not without its risk, was Dynon. It fits in
the standard 3" hole, is very simple to install and initial reports
on its operation are excellent.
