This question may be moot because I haven't rigged my elevator pushrod to
the control column yet...but anyway...
I find that when the stick is in the forward-most position, the aileron trim
bias springs interfere with the edge of the seat rib hole. Something tells
me that there won't be as much fore/aft stick play when everything's bolted
together pushrod-wise, but I'm curious if anybody else experienced this.
Thanks in advance,

And now that I have the springs safety wired, I find that when you rock the
stick back and forth you can see the weldment flexing *significantly*. I
tried reducing the spring tension, but there's only so loose you can get it
before it starts to "flop around" when the stick goes all the way to one
side or the other.
I'm starting to think this is a pretty lame system. I know it works, but it
seems kind of kludgy. Has anybody ditched the spring bias system in favor
of a movable trim tab on one of the ailerons? I hate seeing things flex
like that just because the stick is being rocked back and forth.

Hi Dan,
I just completed putting in the aileron trim last weekend and found it to woork just fine. I do have the elevator push rod in place and can push the stick to the extreme positions without any interference. I'll post some photos of my installation in Roberta's RV7A folder.

I've got the trim hooked up and wired and it works great. The flexing
goes away when you bolt in the removable floor pans. Have faith in
Van's.

I also have to mention when I used the original angle for the handle, I drilled it wrong, so I used a heavier angle as a replacement. That may also have made mine work without flexing prior to installing the floor plates.
