Has anyone used the electrical conduit from Van's? Mine just arrived and it is super light weight, looks like it will work fine. A couple of questions tho...
1. Do I need to run the conduit thru grommets in the ribs, or is it a "self grommet"?
2. How did you secure it in place, ie clamps at the ends, clamps to all ribs, nylon ties, etc?
Thanks,
Larry

That shows some photos of how I ran the conduit in the wings. I cheated and
used simple tie-wraps at the ends to secure 'em. Plenty of tension at each
rib holding the conduit along the run...that is, the holes are juuust large
enough for the conduit to pass through and kind of "notch" into place.
The "right" way to do it that I've seen several builders do is to make a
little piece of thin alclad with a semicircular notch...screw/rivet that to
the end ribs so that the semi-circle buts up against the end of the conduit,
resting in a notch and locking the conduit in place. I forget where I saw
that, but it's around somewhere...

Just drill a 3/4 inch hole in the last
rib,inboard and outboard.The conduit won't
move.No tie wraps needed...

self gromment

Resize the existing groment holes but make the root and tip ones
smaller so that the conduit "locks" in place then use 3M weather
strip adhesive to secure the condiut to each hole that it passes
through.

Thanks to all you guys for the help! Thanks to Dan I made my holes 27/32 and the conduit went thru easily (except root/tip ribs, thanks to Wayne) I especially like the idea of slightly undersizing the hole in the root and tip rib for holding the conduit in place.
Why don't I think of these things?
