Has anyone ran heater lines up from the Hot air distribution box
inside the cab to an area under the windshield for a defroster? I
was thinking a 3/4 inch tube to a hole in the dash below the
windshield may be a good idea. Whenever the heat is on the defroster
would be on also. Here in the NW it may be needed more than other
places.

I was thinking about cutting some slots near the edge of the windshield, in the glareshield, to allow some convective air from the heater to pass by and help defog/defrost. I also had a little 12V portable defroster I used in my SeaRey. It was about 150 watts and laid flat on the glare shield. It worked pretty well up here in Wisconsin.

John,
I spoke with someone at Vans when ordering my heat valve and they said on
the RV10 they were just putting some holes in the dash above the avionics
rack and blowing air up with a computer fan. The fan would run all the time
to help keep avionics cool and have the added benefit of being a defroster
by pulling some of the heater air up from the knee space behind the panel.
Hope this helps,
Jon Byrum
