Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: quickbuild fuse starting point

Author: "rmallicoat2000" <rmallicoat2000@...> Time: Thu Feb 5, 2004 1:06 pm PST Link

I have just about got my wings finished up and am looking forward to
starting on my QB fuse. Can anyone help with an approximate starting
point in the manual. I guess I could start in the manual and go line
by line to see what has been done and what is left to do. I almost
opted for the slow build fuse for this very reason. I know this has
been discussed but I could not find anything in my search. Any help
would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Ralph Mallicoat

Ralph,

I highly recommend you go through the construction manual "STEP-BY-STEP" as
if you were building from a 'slow-build' kit. I too have the QB Wings and
fuselage and was looking for a short-cut. DON'T DO IT..... If you follow the
manual and eyeball each part/assembly in the plane and the plans, you will
learn the different parts, how they should be assembled and how they relate
to the structures that have already been done.

Also, I found places where the QB factory had gotten "rivet happy" and I had
to drill out numerous rivets to add a part when it would have been missed had
I not gone through the manual "step-by-step".

My two cents and hope it helps,
Jack
