Greetings:
I am looking for hints to more easily install the rollbar for tip up
canopy from those who have gone before. I am having trouble
visualizing how to install the channel piece from the rollbar to the
baggage compart. bulkhead. It seems you have to leave room for the
plexi glass window behind the rollbar, and between the skin, but how
much? I have looked hard at the plans, but find no dimensions for
the rear attach to baggage bulkhead. For the forward attach to
rollbar, it says to mount alum angle piece 9/32 below top of
rollbar. What am I missing.

I am not near my RV-7 project and do not have plans or part numbers to
refer to. The channel inserts into inside (underside of top leg) of the
angle bracket that is spread to 101 degrees. The angle bracket is
installed on the bulkhead, tucked up against the bulkhead flange and
match-drilled to the #30 rivet holes that tie the bulkhead to the
support channel and longeron from behind. Keep looking at the
drawings--this is shown, but not easy to interpret. It is shown on the
lower right corner of one of the roll bar drawings.
