Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: Height of 7A

Hi Gang,

Does anyone have the height of a 7A with the 9 rudder?
I've been attaching the tail and installing all the
fiberglass tips. It appears that with the fuselage
leveled at the F718 longeron and the main gear tires
installed I won't have enough ceiling clearance for
the verticle stab and rudder with the tips attached.
I've got the main gear on and sitting on 2x4's without
the tires (no engine or nose gear attached yet). The
finished ceiling in my garage is at 7'11 3/4". Van's
specs for both the 7A and the 9A say the height is
7'10" yet it certainly doesn't appear that it's going
to fit with my low ceiling.

Thanks for your input.

Robert

Just measured.... 97.5" high to the top of the of the vertical
stabilizer tip. I'm only about 2" from the ceiling and have to be
careful getting in and out so it don't bounce up and hit.

Finishing up rear of cabin... hope to fly in 3 months.
