Hey all: A month or so ago, I asked for advice and recommendations about attending the ATC empengage construction week. I appreciate the advice received. I'm attending next week, and wondered if anyone on the list is also going.

Having attended a session last October I'd recommend the following...
1) Wear comfortable shoes. You're going to be on your feet for 8-10
hours a day.
2) Bring a pair of comfortable safety glasses.
3) Organize your kit. If you arrive early, use the time before the
first class to inventory and separate your kit parts by vertical
stuff and horizontal stuff. Heads up, the HS-609PP horizontal stab
reinforcement bars are at the bottom of the box. Also, be extra
careful with the rudder flat skins as they are very easily deformed
or bent.
4) If you are fortunate enough to have Jacob in your class, pay
attention to his input. He may be young but he has had a hand in
building several hundred of these tail sections and is very sharp on
the details and unique building techniques.
5) Try several different types of squeezers, drill motors, fluting
pliers, etc. Make notes on what tools you liked and didn't. If your
are still building your tool shopping list, this will be an
invaluable experience.
6) Make friends early on with the pneumatic rivet squeezer. It will
deliver consistant & evenly set rivets with a minimum of time. Also
saves some hand muscle cramps, sure to set in by Wednesday evening!
