Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: Fitting F715 side seat ribs

Author: "lindbergs52" <lindbergs1@...> Time: Sat Oct 2, 2004 11:38 pm PDT Link

Just want check before I drill the holes...I'm assembling the center fuselage. I fluted the
F715 seat ribs, the ones that are later riveted to the side skins, so that a center line on the
lower rib flange is centered through the belly skin holes. The top flange of the seat rib
matches the curve of the seat skin with the proper .032 of rib sticking out from under the
seat skin. Will this result in a good fit with the side skin? Seems like it should but I'm
checking...and holding my drill in check. Thanks, Steve Lindberg

Steve,

I did this not long ago and from your description, it sounds like
what I experienced. It should fit. These ribs are riveted to the
side skin when center fuselage assembled. THEN the seats are
installed. Just continue to verify the fit by clecoing the seats in
place as you install then I believe you have to remove the seats to
final rivet.

Good luck,

Jerry
