Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: VOR problem

I have a new bendix King KX125 nav/com and can not get the NAV part
to work. I can hear the VOR code fine but the HSI (built in to the
radio) will not work. I put the rabbit ear antenna under the
horizontal stab, do others have the antenna there and have it
working? Any hints what may be wrong?

Yes!

I too have this nice little radio but the installation nearly drove me
crazy until I finally found all the required jumpers on the wiring diagram.

Look VERY carefully at the pinouts and make sure you have all necessary
jumpers in place. I don't have the schematic in front of me but I
suspect you need a jumper to substitute for an external CDI. Seems I
recall there were 3 or 4 jumpers and some of them are pretty obscure on
the schematic.
