Once deployed, is there any way to control where you land?
Sure. Once the chute inflates and the pendulous swinging stops, step out on
the wing and sit down, feet dangling over the leading edge. When you drift
over a spot you like, just slip your butt off the wing. You should be able
to make target +/- 200 feet or so.

Be sure to snag the TOP line and shinny over to the tower to climb down. If
you miss the static line and manage to grab one of the three live lines,
it's best to just jump. Making the transition from live line to galvanized
tower is likely to let the smoke out of you.

Well, you know, I bet you COULD if the aircraft had any sort of power
left...get a little "oomph" out of it to get the thing moved to a
more favorable location. Basically, wait until late in the game to
shut down the electronics and turn off the fuel supply and use what
you've got until the last minute...then shut it all down and open the
door.
What does the training in BRS use say?

<<Suppose I'm heading for some power transmission lines?>> That should not happen. Just don't put the chute at a time that would do that. You don't want surviving builders to criticize your pull timing and technique do you?
Several other things come to mind if you are into the wires.
1. You will burn fast. You need not bother putting out your cigarette before the impact so as not to light the fuel. Consider that irrelevant.
2. You will burn fast. You don't have to worry about bleeding to death waiting for rescue squad. This is a plus.
3. You will burn fast. The ELT will not help them find you. Their efforts to track down the power outage will. And that is probably faster than an ELT. Still not fast enough though.
4. The last thing you think of will be that bug zapper with the black light and the electic grid you once had in your back yard. What goes around, comes around.
5. You will promise your deity that your next plane, in the unlikely event you survive, will be a glass one, not aluminum. But, no matter, see items 3 and 4, supra.

They wouldn't. They'd probably ask how I got into the situation in
the first place. Well,t hey would if they had a brain.
Anyway, what's the lowest altitude AGL you can pull the chute?

Bob,
The Skyhawk model is certified down to 300ft.
The caveat is mostly airspeed rather than altitude...to a point.
