Home -> RV-7 and RV-7A topic: AA6-063 Brackets

O.K., I'm now building the fuselage and have made a number of
brackets out of AA6-063-3/4x3/4. Started to fabricate another, but it
seems that I am not going to have enough AA6-063 left after this one.
So, I begane to look at the two nine foot AA6's that came with my
wing set along with the two longerons. I've searched and searched for
a need for a AA6 bracket of that length before I begin cutting the
crap out of it. Don't see any other reason. Other than, this is my
extra brackets that I will need for many other brackets. Question is
to all builders, past my stage in this venture, is this currect?

Go for it Mike.... just don't cut the 15 foot .125 longerons into little pieces!

Michael,

Had the same problem with the RV8 – seems I had lots of extra
AA6-063-3/4x3/4 – turns out they were needed for the rear longerons – they
are not well documented at all – I suggest you scan through the fuselage
drawings and identify all ‘make from AA6-063-3/4x3/4’ parts and then plan
out your cuts.

In my case, I had to purchase some extra AA6-063-3/4x3/4 stock since I made
a mistake and had no extra material to redo a part.
