OK - I've been exposed. I was just trying to have fun after reading
all of the "Dumb question" and "Thank you kind sir" posts. I check
the list daily and rarely post, but I couldn't help myself last
night. I did it in fun and not anger, and I honestly did not realize
anyone would take it seriously (107 Gallons alone takes me to gross
weight without a pilot). I did just return from a trip to Oregon and
Cal, but the 42gal is plenty for me. My longest leg was Dallas to
Denver, 550nm, and that only took 29gal. BTW, I took the original
Maxwell "dumb" question as simply a hypothetical from a design or
engineering standpoint and never thought for a moment that he was
actually going to load his plane that way. I certainly don't think
he had anything to apologize for. This group is full of hypothetical
questions and it's not (to me anyway) a reflection on their ability
or judgement as a pilot. I love my plane and I value this group and
I try not to get mad or annoyed at anyone here. (Although Bob Collins
does get to me sometimes, but Bob seems to mostly have something
valuable to offer the group so I appreciate his inputs.) Anyway,
hope I didn't offend anyone, it truely was all in fun.

and that includes me. It's clear from reading Kevin and your and a
bunch of other people's posts that I diminish the enjoyment of the
group. I can respect that. And I'm sorry for doing so.
As soon as I approve my own post (g), I'll hit unsubscribe and I'm
sure since many of you post in the RVList anyway that when I have
questions I can find the answers there.
I may still try to put an annual RV7 BBQ together, but I'll plan on
ordering a lot less food. (g)

I hope we are not chasing the good guys out of this group. Instead
lets all chase out the people who post "hoax" questions just to
create a forum for flamers. those posts do nothing to further our
common goals in this group. Being a new guy here in this group I
assumed that all posts would be serious posts and have treated them
that way. But, now having been the victim of two hoaxs I have
learned my lesson and will not participate in endless flaming
sessions. I will still try to help any way I can in legitimate
posts. I hope Bob will reconsider and come back. Even though we
didn't always agree.
