anyone have good/bad experience with 2.25" engine instruments, fuel
flow instruments from JPI vs EI?? Have easy swap with single cht to
get multiple cht/egt in one cutout and space for small fuel
flow 'calculator' in another. I like the new EFIS stuff but major
panel cutting would be required to make them work so will stick
with 'old' round instruments. larry b

Larry,
I'm an "old school" kinda guy and like separate instruments (don't like
putting all my eggs in one basket sort to speak) and went with a combination
of EI and Vans. For EI I have the tach, fuel cmptr, fuel gauge (cap) and UBG
monitor. For Vans I went with manifold, oil pres & temp, volt, amp. If I had
it to do over I would go all EI as the quality is much better and I just
like them (the vans work ok though and saved some $). The folks at EI are
the best in customer service in my experience and I've had no problems at
all. I love the fuel cmptr and analyzer, can't imagine flying without either
one IMO.

I have the JPI engine analyzer and have been very happy with it in my
Cherokee six for 4 years. That said, I plan to go with an EFIS for my 7
