Greetings
I am about to the point of starting the finish kit. I really look forward to the next trama......canopy cuttting.....fabrication....etc....etc.
I remember some talk about a possible traga to cover the connection between the forward and back portion of the tip up canopy. I have some minimal notion of how this might be accomplished???Would really like some detail / ideas as to how this might be done.
TIA
Frank @ SGU and SLC......fuse / finish

Frank,
I just completed the tip up (not as bad as some make out, but very time consuming) I opted for a targa strip as you mentioned. I fabricated a one piece combination side canopy skin and targa. If you can imagine a a "U" shaped piece that takes the place of the side skirts at the longeron, continuing over the canopy cut. This had to be cut from a 4'x4' sheet of .025. I sealed the tip up section with Sika 225, with the black primer.
My concern with a targa was the joint at the side skirt cracking as I observed many at OSH. The one piece should alleviate, and also allowed a nice radius.
No web site, but can e-mail pics off list. I also have a pattern that I will be happy to send.
